God of War Gets Enhanced Performance Graphics Options on PS5

God of War was one of the biggest hits of 2018, and for good reason. It updated the franchise greatly, introducing Kratos to a whole new generation. So, of course the game made its way on the PlayStation Plus Collection, which a lot of people are using to play it on their PS5. Of course, many of those that purchased God of War on PlayStation 4 can also play it on their new console, and many already do, I’m sure.

Now, when it came out, God of War really put the PS4 to the test. It was gorgeous, running in 4K at 30 FPS. However, the PlayStation 5 can do way more. Why not make the most of it? Well, that’s exactly what Santa Monica Studio have done. They’ve released a free patch for God of War on PS5, which adds the “enhanced performance” graphics option. If you choose it, your game will run at 60 FPS, 2160p, in 4K checkerboard resolution.

That said, you’ll always have the choice to go back to the PlayStation 4 settings by choosing Original Performance Experience. That will revert your graphics to 4K checkerboard resolution running at 30 FPS. However you choose to play, if you get stuck anywhere, feel free to peruse our huge list of God of War guides. We’ve written about anything and everything, so I’m sure you’ll find what you need.
