Ghost Recon: Wildlands – an explosive Easter Egg
Ghost Recon: Wildlands was famous even before its launch the current holder of the “largest beta ever” by Ubisoft. The day after its launch, players are finding a variety of Easter Eggs throughout the game. The Division was also stuffed with gifts of this kind, so someone at Ubisoft must have a knack for this kind of thing.
One of the fun little things that don’t really affect anything but might cause a chuckle was found in Wildlands in the form of a weird button. Of course, there is a button next to the sign saying “don’t press me”. Guess what people do right away?
It would appear that pressing the button causes bombardment with four rockets. First, they go up in the air, just enough to cause a stir in your panic control centers. Next, they make straight for your position. And to top it off, they explode, soundless, in a shower of confetti. Someone had a lot of time on their hands.
This would appear to be somewhat of a trademark for Wildlands. Ghost Recon titles of yesterday were more serious affairs, while Wildlands is actively trying to undermine the previous realism of the series.
There is probably a whole lot more to be found on the largest map ever to appear in any Ubisoft game. The map is based on Bolivia, which has recently caused a stir in the international relations when Bolivia publicly showed their dislike of being though of as a place where drug lords use private arms to duke it out with other drug lords. Still, it is fun to see the game pouring out into the real world.
In other news, you can read about the Season Pass for Ghost Recon: Wildlands which was recently announced, including a special mission and two expansions. This digital iteration of Bolivia is currently out on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
