Ghost Recon Wildlands Getting Special Splinter Cell Mission

Players of Ghost Recon Wildlands are getting a special, limited-time mission, in which they’ll have to help an old friend finish a job. The old friend in question is none other than Sam Fisher, CIA black ops superspy and star of the Splinter Cell series. Completely unhindered by arthritis, Fisher will enlist all interested players to help him out from April 10th until May 2nd.

The new mission is free for all owners of the game across all three platforms. It takes place at night, and it involves infiltrating a camp in order to steal some intel the baddies want to sell to Santa Blanca. Completing it will yield “special items” as rewards, like Fisher’s signature night vision goggles.

It’s all part of the Year 2 celebration, it seems. Ubisoft will also release a bunch of new stuff along with the mission, like the Echelon PVP class, which is a grunt from Sam’s Fourth Echelon team. Their things are gadgets – one we know about is the Sonar Pulse, which lets them see enemies through walls. They’re also adding a new PVP mode called Sabotage, with five new maps.

If you’re looking to dish out some cash, you can get the Year 2 Pass, which will grant you early access to the class and mode, along with some trinkets, like a Splinter Cell outfit, the karambit knife, night vision goggles and some new weapons.

If you don’t own the game, you can try it out during a free weekend – from April 12th to April 15th. It will be available on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One, and it will include the special mission. If you like it and decide to purchase the game afterwards, your progress will transfer over smoothly. It’s a great opportunity to try out the game with no cost.
