Genshin Impact Horsetail Locations

Horsetail locations in Genshin Impact are places where you can get that specific crafting/cooking ingredient. As far as cooking goes, that’s not as important right now; what is important is that you need horsetail to craft a specific bait. Considering that fishing is currently one of the central interests for Travelers, you want to get as many different lures as you can. To help you out with this task, here’s our Genshin Impact Horsetail Locations guide.

Where to Find Horsetail Locations in Genshin Impact

To find Genshin Impact horsetail locations, you need to look in a very specific region. To be more exact, you can find them between Stone Gate and Dihua Marsh, and even a little bit to the north of Stone Gate. They are especially numerous at the three-pronged crossroads between Stone Gate and Wuwang Hill. You can check the first of two screenshots below. Any of those locations are a perfectly valid place to collect some horsetail. Remember, they look like pink reeds, so they’re not exactly hard to spot.

If, on the other hand, you are not a huge fan of foraging, that’s fine. You can also purchase horsetail from a specific shop. Head to the north side of Liyue Harbor. There, you’ll find a large, temple-like structure. Inside you’ll find the Bubu Pharmacy. Talk to the pharmacist, Herbalist Gui, and talk to him. In the shop inventory, you’ll find horsetail for about 240 Mora a pop. The shop restocks every two to three in-game days, so as long as you have the coin, you can always use this location to get Horsetail in Genshin Impact.

Now, some of you might be wondering why you need horsetail in the first place. Well, you need it as a cooking ingredient, but more importantly right now, you need it to craft the Fake Fly Bait for fishing. The other ingredient for it is Sakura Blooms. The Fake Fly Bait is really good for catching Koi and Pufferfish.
