Fish Respawn Time in Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact fish respawn time has been a matter of a lot of debate among the fanbase lately. After all, fishing is a brand new mechanic in the game, so a lot of people are still kinda stabbing in the dark, trying to figure out how it all works. As a result, there’s some misinformation floating around the internet. Luckily, as far as we can tell, the system seems to be relatively simple. With all of that said, in this guide, we’ll explain how the fish respawn time works and dispel some of the rumors.

Genshin Impact Fish Respawn Time

UPDATE: After carefully checking, we’ve gathered some more concrete info. It seems that fish do not actually respawn on a daily cycle as we originally thought. In fact, it seems that you have to wait three real-time days for a given fishing spot to refill. So, if you’ve emptied a fishing place out, you’ll just have to go to a different one, or find a friendly player that’ll let you fish in their world. Or wait three real days. And no, changing the date on your console/computer won’t work, we tried. Note that we have noticed that, sometimes, one fish will reappear in an emptied spot after a daily reset, but that won’t be of much help to you.

ORIGINAL TEXT FOLLOWS:The matter of fish respawn time in Genshin Impact seems to be a little bit complicated, as I’ve already implied. First off, I’ve seen rumors that fish respawn after three in-game days, but we’ve found no evidence to support that whatsoever. Instead, what we have managed to confirm is that they respawn daily. The exact time of day may vary from fish to fish; there’s just too many of them to tell. However, they definitely do work on a daily basis. With those basics out of the way, let’s get into the nitty-gritty, shall we?

Let’s say that you want to catch a certain number of fish, and let’s say that they appear in one location and only in the daytime. What you need to do is catch the fish that you want, scatter the others for good measure (or catch them all), then fast-forward the in-game clock by 24 hours. If our observations are correct, that should make the fish reappear. The same Genshin Impact fish respawn time principle works for nocturnal fish. Of course, we could be wrong about this, and if we are, please, let us know in the comments. However, I’m pretty sure this system works.

That about does it for the fish respawn time matter. If you have any other questions about fishing in Genshin Impact, we have you covered. Check out our guides like Pufferfish Locations & Bait, Medaka Fish Locations, Genshin Impact Fishing Spots, and many others. I think you’ll find them useful.
