Rejoice, oh people of Fortnite, for the beloved Playground Mode is coming back to us in the new patch 5.10. Unfortunately, it is once again going to be a limited-time event. So, let us enjoy the Playground while it remains with us this time. According to the patch notes, they have beefed the mode up even further. For example, they’ve added the golf carts to the Playground now, so that’s going to be fun. Also, if you enter the Playground in a squad, you’ll be able to switch teams to work together or battle each other. Also, the game’s won’t end once somebody leaves the server, and there’s several other new things that I think I’m going to leave up to you to discover.

The other big addition in the new update is the already-announced Birthday Event. In case the news has passed you by, both Battle Royale and Save the World modes are getting their in-game missions / challenges to mark the first birthday of Fortnite. It is a momentous occasion, after all. In Fortnite BR, there will be three challenges for you to complete, including Dance in front of different birthday cakes. As a refresher: you’ll be able to earn several different rewards for completing these challenges, including a cake-shaped piece of back bling for completing all three.

There’s a lot of other stuff in the new update, including the Compact SMG gun, which I’m anxious to try out, as well as different adjustments and bug fixes, including the ability to select “Nothing” as your outfit or back bling. You can check out the full patch notes by following the link above.
