Fortnite BR Getting Playground Limited-Time Mode Soon

Fortnite will soon be getting Playground as a limited-time mode. The crux of the mode is removing a lot of limitations, allowing players to freely explore, experiment, and learn. Sure, you can die, but you’ll spawn back in immediately. With the risk removed, players will be able to do pretty much whatever they want. And you can count on an onslaught of llamas to keep you geared up.

The folks over at Epic Games are almost done cooking up a brand-new LTM for Fortnite. The mode in question is Playground, first mentioned back in May. The whole purpose of the mode will be to let players run wild around the map, with much fewer constraints than usual. And they’re pretty giddy about it, it seems. As NeuronBasher put it on Reddit: “You have no idea how excited we all are to see the crazy amazing things folks do with this mode. We’re going to be paying very close attention and learning as much as we can so please make sure to share your thoughts and experiences as you try it out.”

What exactly will Playground be about? Well, as the name suggests, it will allow you and your friends to freely explore the map and do whatever you please, without the fear of elimination. More precisely, you can die, but you’ll respawn right back in. Friendly fire will be on in this mode, just for extra fun and opportunities to experiment with friends. As Epic Games described it a while back: “Battle and build to your heart’s content with an extended period of time to roam around the map as well as increased resource generation.” That will include the usual chests, ammo boxes, and many, many, many llamas.

We still don’t know when exactly the Playground mode is going to come out, but I have a hunch it will be either this week or the next. When it does, make sure to squad up with friends and go do whatever you want, as much as you want. See you out there.
