For Honor Open Beta Leaked Dates, Starts in February
Ubisoft is planning to release a For Honor open beta before the official game is out. The closed beta wrapped up recently, with a lot of players participating (and plenty griefing going around). Now, thanks to a leaked email on NeoGAF, we might now the exact dates of the open beta – February 9th to 12th.
According to a screenshot posted on NeoGAF, the For Honor open beta will be live from February 9th to February 12th, mere days before the full game release. This will clearly be a server test, since it’s unlikely that developers will have time to patch anything in that time frame. There hasn’t been any official announcement from Ubisoft yet, but they’ll probably brake the silence soon.
NeoGAF user Strakt posted a screenshot of an email he got from Twitch Prime. Apart form the open beta dates, it details the benefits that Twitch Prime users will have in the game. You’ll be able to watch a special For Honor live stream on Ubisoft’s Twitch channel, with celebrity guests and twelve generals from the three factions. You’ll also have the chance to “win the ultimate prize and reign supreme in the final round of the War of the Factions”.
Also, the email states that Ubisoft and Twitch are working together to, basically, hype the game up more before its release on February 14th. As a result, Twitch Prime users will get access to in-game bonuses. These include “in-game loot, 10-day champion status, and an exclusive United Factions emblem free with Prime starting February 14th”.
Hopefully, Ubisoft will soon confirm these dates. Additionally, they should probably try and fix some of the games problems in the closed beta. However, they might not have the time. These betas are way to close to the release date. We’ll have to wait and see.
For Honor is coming out on February 14th for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
