When is FF16 Coming to Steam – Final Fantasy 16 PC Release Date

For several years now, Square Enix and Sony have had a close relationship that includes many exclusive game releases. This includes both permanent and timed exclusives. So, what bout Final Fantasy 16? Is FF16 a PS5 exclusive? Well, it is a timed exclusive. The producer of Final Fantasy 16, Naoki Yoshida, confirmed in a recent interview that the FF16 PC port is planned. Unfortunately, the bad news is that FFXVI PC port development will start only after they release the PS5 version on June 22nd, 2023.

The deal between Sony and Square Enix regarding Final Fantasy 16 exclusivity is timed at 6 months. This means that the game will be exclusive to the PS5 at least until December 22nd, 2023. However, given that the development of the port will start in July 2023, we don’t believe they will have time to finish it in 6 months. Final Fantasy VII Remake was released on April 10, 2020. And a PC port was released on December 16, 2021. Hence, our estimation is that they need at least a year to develop and test the PC port.

However, Final Fantasy 16 doesn’t have a PS4 version of the game, and this might make things a bit faster. Hence, our conclusion is that the Final Fantasy 16 PC release date window is somewhere in the second quarter of 2024 (March-June 2024). Nonetheless, we will make sure to update the article as soon as we have more information on when is FF16 coming to Steam.
