Spiked Armor Locations FFXV

Spiked Armor is an item in Final Fantasy XV. You’ll need it later on in the game, to upgrade Absord Shield – one of the unique weapons you can get from Tony. The quest that leads you towards the upgrade is called A Better Absorb Shield. It can be pretty hard to get if you don’t know where to look – we’ve never seen it lying on the ground. In this guide, we’re going to show you Final Fantasy XV spiked armor locations.

Spiked Armor in Final Fantasy XV

It’s not actual armor – it’s the carpace of a fairly large beast. In order to fight it, you’ll need to start a specific hunt quest. Go to the Cauthess rest area in the middle of the map, just a bit south of The Disc. Talk to the tipster in the diner and accept the Hammer the Cannibals quest. It’s a hunt that’s going to lead you to a nearby valley.

Once you’re there, you’ll have to face off against a bunch of armored animals – lvl 14 Bulletes and lvl 38 Skarnbulletes, to be precise. You’ll have to murder the Skornbulletes in order to get the item. It won’t drop 100% of the time, but that particular group should be enough for you to get the ingredient. If it isn’t, don’t worry. You can take up the quest again – you’ll earn much less money, but the beasts will reappear.

When you’ve got the ingredient, go talk to Cid. Give him everything, and he’ll start tinkering. Once he’s done, you’ll have an upgraded shield that does more damage and protects better. You’ll have to wait a while – do some hunting and rest a bit before you return. If you’ve found the spiked armor in another location, be sure to let us know.
