FIFA 23 Next Gen & Current Gen Differences, Which Version to Buy

The answer to the question of which version of FIFA 23, next gen or current gen, is definitely next gen, since the differences are pretty big. So, if you have an Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5, definitely purchase the “newer” version. Sure, it costs more, but I think it’ll be worth it in this case. And PC players, you will be getting the upgraded variant by default. Probably the biggest difference is that next gen has “HyperMotion2” technology, which should provide an amazing visual experience, with over 6,000 moment-to-moment animations. That’s definitely the big selling point, but there’s a lot more. For example, Technical Dribbling, which aims to improve responsiveness, which has always been a bit of a problem for the franchise.

Another difference between the current gen and next gen versions of FIFA 23 is the Machine Learning Jockey system, which makes jockeying more responsive. Then, there’s AcceleRATE, which puts players into different archetypes, aiming to make every player more viable. These will apparently include things like Controlled, Explosive, and Lengthy sprint types. We’re still not done. Composed Ball Striking, which makes transitions from controlling the ball to shooting smoother. Then there’s Kinetic Goalkeeper vs Header Battles. That’s apparently meant to make goalies more “confident” in catching the ball from the air when against a player. Last, but not least, we have new impact physics (making the ball react more realistically with players’ body parts), high-fidelity Net Interaction physics, and new match scenes (crowd chants and the like).
