Far Cry 5 Tops UK Sales Chart, Sells Faster Than Any Other Far Cry

Like everybody could have expected, Far Cry 5 has debuted on the top of many sales charts, including in the UK. In fact, So far, it is the fastest-selling game in the franchise, as far as the UK goes, according to gameindustry.biz. That’s honestly not that big a surprise whatsoever. It’s a new installment in a huge franchise, not exclusive to any console. Even the fact that it came out in the first quarter of the year couldn’t stop it from flying right to the top. In fact, anything less would be a disappointment, as far as pure numbers go.

This is, of course, bad news for Sea of Thieves, which was in first place last week. Since then, their sales have apparently fallen by 50%. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean Sea of Thieves is doomed; far from it. I’m sure that it has a good, long life ahead of it, especially if they add more stuff to do. As it stands, though, Sea of Thieves is now in third place of the UK sales chart, under Far Cry 5 and FIFA 18. This is a good moment to mention that this chart doesn’t take digital sales into account. If it did, Sea of Thieves might be higher on the list.

The rest of the list has no special surprises. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is in fourth place, with PUBG and Call of Duty WWII in fifth and sixth place. In seventh is A Way Out, which has fallen from second place. In the last three of the top-ten, we have Assassin’s Creed Origins, Forza Motorsport 7, and Grand Theft Auto V, which is always in the top ten.
