Far Cry 5 Lost On Mars DLC Launch Date & Teaser Trailer

What’s the best, most exciting part of backwater America? Why, alien abductions, of course! So, of course Far Cry 5 decided to add some alien action to the mix. And so we get the Lost on Mars DLC, which is coming out next week; on July 17th, to be exact. Get ready to blast all kinds of arachnid menace on Mars. Some of them can even fly, just for good measure. It’s like a mix of Starship Troopers and pulp sci-fi from the fifties, and, at least in principle, I love absolutely everything about it.

The teaser trailer that you can check out below does little in terms of showing you any gameplay. It does, however, set the stage for how exactly you find yourself in the Martian pickle. Apparently, you’ll play as Nick Rye, who made an oddly specific promise to Hurk. As a result of said promise, when Hurk calls on you, you end up teleported from your truck to Mars. Now, you have to battle the invading forces of Mars. On top of that, according to the video description, you’ll have to return power to ANNE, an AI that is Earth’s last line of defense against the Martians.

Of course, you’ll have access to a number of new futuristic weapons to deal with the threat. This includes Blaster of Disaster (a single-shot space gun), Hellfire (shoots 15 laser balls), and other fun stuff to wreak havoc. Oh, and you’ll have a jetpack to help you get around.
