Fallout 4 Won't Have A Level Cap
Bethesda have revealed on their Twitter profile that Fallout 4 will let you play after you’ve finished the main storyline. There will also be no level cap, so you’ll be able to level up to infinity, and beyond.
This is great news for anyone who wants to “see everything” in a game, but there are some concerns regarding balance and such.

No level cap means no limit to the number of skill points, which in turn means all skills at 100. It also means you’ll be able to pick up every perk in the game. Hopefully they’ll work out a way to make leveling up to infinity impractical (like needing exponentially more and more experience points), or else putting thought into your build will be pointless.
To our fans who’ve asked: Fallout 4 doesn’t end when the main story is over and there is no level cap. You can keep playing and leveling.
