Exodus is the True Mass Effect Successor and it has a new Trailer with Gameplay
Exodus is a Sci-Fi epic and a true Mass Effect successor since it is made and written by the people that originally were among the leading people to create Mass Effect 1 and 2. Archetype Entertainment, creators of Exodus, was founded in 2019 and its studio head is James Ohlen. Mr. Ohlen was the Senior Creative Director of BioWare for Mass Effect 1 and 2 and was Director of Design on Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 as well as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Dragon Age: Origins. You know; all those legendary games when Bioware was making nothing but bangers. Drew Karpyshyn, beside writing a bunch of extended universe Star Wars novels, was one of the lead writers for Mass Effect 1 and 2. He is also writing Exodus. Dear gamers, this feels like magic is in the air. To whet your appetite about Exodus, Archetype Entertainment released a trailer for Exodus that shows a bit of gameplay as well.
Exodus Gameplay Trailer
The first gameplay trailer for Exodus is called “EXODUS: The Traveler’s Creed”. It consists of pre-alpha gameplay footage, so we’re still years off from the final product. Even in this state you can see the game will be exciting. Especially for Mass Effect fans. The main character is Jun (or June?) and he is the Traveler. This will take him on an adventure fighting various aliens and, as we can see in the trailer, using special abilities, that I can only assume, are the Celestial Tech mentioned in the trailer. We can see him encasing an enemy in a rock formation at one point and using a special kind of blade for stealth combat. Both those look like Celestial Tech. We can also see him fighting an armored bear, talking to flying frogs and meeting new companions in, what can only be described as, good old fashioned Bioware/Mass Effect way. Just watch the Exodus trailer below or on YouTube to see for yourself.
What is Exodus?
Exodus is a AAA Sci-Fi Action Adventure Role-Playing game. With third person, over the shoulder, perspective you’ll go hunting for Celestial alien tech as the Traveler. Humanity faced an Exodus and is fighting for survival. As the Traveler your job is to get the alien weaponry and technology to help your fellow humans. The problem is Time Dilation. If you watched Interstellar you’ll know what this is. Traveler goes to places where minutes are months in the rest of the universe. This will provide unique stories and challenges in the game. Your choices will have consequences for humanity on a generational scale.
I’m extremely excited by this game. It is headed by industry veterans with a proven record of being able to create magnificent and memorable video games and stories. Wizards of the Coast are the overarching company backing this project. And now we got a trailer looking this good at pre-alpha stage? All of these are good reasons to be excited. If you want to stay in the known about Exodus and become a Traveler make sure you check out the official website and subscribe to their newsletter. This will make it possible to get the news about the game straight from the source.
