St Trina Imbibe Nectar or Leave Choice in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
Saint Trina is a new NPC that you can find in Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for Elden Ring and when you meet her she offers a dialogue choice to Imbibe Nectar. You die from doing so and nothing seems to change in the world. Imbibing Nectar with Saint Trina is an important step of her quest in Shadow of the Erdtree. It also connects to other NPC quests in the new Elden Ring DLC. I’ll explain what happens and should you imbibe nectar with Saint Trina and how this all relates to Thiollier.
Saint Trina Imbibe Nectar Choice
Choosing Imbibe Nectar option while talking to St. Trina kills you, but that doesn’t seem to make any difference in the world or progresses the quest with her. The trick is to have another NPC present. You need to go find Thiollier at the Pillar Path Cross grace. He’s a vendor there and once you first talk to Saint Trina you’ll get a new dialogue option with him. Once you tell him of St. Trina whereabouts you progress both NPCs quest in Shadow of the Erdtree Elden Ring DLC.
St. Trina & Thiollier NPC quest walkthrough
Tell Thiollier of St. Trina’s whereabouts and then teleport back to Saint Trina and Thiollier will be by her side. You want to Imbibe Nectar with St. Trina while Thiollier is there and keep doing it until she talks to you during one of the deaths the process involves. It takes several Imbibes for this to happen. Now talk to Thiollier and tell him what St. Trina told you during the death scene.
He’ll be jealous and you need to imbibe nectar one more time. He’ll then turn hostile and you’ll fight him as an invader. Feel free to defeat him because his death does not end or mess with the quest for either St. Trina nor Thiollier. Quest continues as you get to the point in the game where you burn the Sealing Tree for the main story.
The rest of the quest for Shadow of the Erdtree NPCs St. Trina and Thiollier continues after the burning of the Sealing Tree, but that is not the focus of this article. The point is that you should choose imbibe nectar choice during St. Trina dialogue in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC until he invades you. After the burning I’ve found Thiollier in St. Trina’s cave alive and well and after exhausting all dialogue with him and imbibing another nectar he moved to a new spot. You’ll find him as a possible summon at the Needle Knight Leda boss fight. You have to summon both him and Sir Ansbach to progress the quest further. Doing all this will make Thiollier a possible summon at the final boss of Shadow of the Erdtree and he’ll drop his armor set if you defeat the end boss.
Very early in your exploration of Elden Ring world you will find out that you need to prepare your character for different tasks. You'll need to learn how to use Ashes of War, how to two-hand weapons, or use magic spells during the course of your adventures. Many secrets are also waiting for you, such as, a hostile NPC Sellen that doesn't let you see her shop, an invisible man in a bush, or a huge turtle with a bell that lets you duplicate some very important items.
