What is a Rune Arc in Elden Ring?
Rune Arcs in Elden Ring are special items that allow you to use effects from Great Runes. The very first Great Rune you likely receive is the one from Godrick the Grafted, the first main boss in Elden Ring. Upon receiving it, players are not exactly sure what to do with it. The first thing you’ll need to do is to restore the Great Rune by visiting a Divine Tower of the region where you’ve obtained that specific rune. For example, in the case of Godrick’s Great Rune, you’ll need to visit the Divine Tower of Limgrave. Then, in order to activate and equip it, you’ll need a Rune Arc. Visit any site of grace, scroll down to Great Runes, select the desired Great Rune, and use a Rune Arc to activate it. And that’s it, now you enjoy the benefits of that Great Rune.
Where to find Rune Arcs in Elden Ring?
There’s not a lot of Great Runes in Elden Ring. But you can only have one equipped at a time. If you are planning on switching them often to use their different effects, you’ll need more Rune Arcs. The easiest, and also the most expensive way to get a Rune Arc is from vendors at the Roundtable Hold and Liurnia of the Lakes. It will cost you 4,000 Runes a piece. Alternatively, you can farm Rune Arcs from a boss in Sellia Backstreets in Sellia, Town of Sorcery, in the Caelid region. Otherwise, they are a rather rare drop from more commons enemies, like rats.
Very early in your exploration of Elden Ring world you will find out that you need to prepare your character for different tasks.
