Elden Ring How to Kill the Giant at Stormgate
If you’re having trouble figuring out how to kill the giant at Stormgate in Elden Ring, you’re not alone. It’s a rough fight, especially this (relatively) early in the game. You merrily saunter into the castle, when suddenly, a gigantic monster with its guts hanging out leaps at you from the roof. It’s traumatizing. Well, fortunately, there is a strategy to this fight, as we’re about to show you. Let’s see how to beat the Stormgate troll in Elden Ring.
How to Beat Stormgate Giant in Elden Ring
To kill or beat the giant at Stormgate in Elden Ring, you need to go for the knees. I know, big point for realism right there. And I’m not joking at all; the troll’s weak point are its knees, but before doing anything, try and lure it out of the castle for easier movement. First off, use R3 to lock onto the monster. Next, flick the right stick to move the reticle onto one of the knees. Dodge through the creature’s attacks (ideally through the long, sweeping ones, because he needs time to recover) towards your target, and strike with a charged heavy attack (press and hold R2/RT). Don’t get greedy; hit once, maybe twice, and then back off. Repeat the process until the troll is falls prone onto the ground.
The next step to defeat the Elden Ring Stormgate Giant is to run over to its head, which now has a weak spot at the crown. Attack it to deliver a devastating, critical hit. It’s like the parry and riposte in Dark Souls, although it has more in common with the visceral attack from Bloodborne. As in you stagger the enemy and then stab them to smithereens. When the troll is back on its feet, wail on its knees again. Rinse and repeat until the creature is finally dead. Even if you don’t get it to fall down again, you’ll still do really good damage by hitting the monster’s more reachable weak point. Just, you know, mind the giant sword it picks up when at half health. Also, be aware that if you use the nearby Gatefront bonfire, aka site of grace, the giant will respawn.
Very early in your exploration of Elden Ring world you will find out that you need to prepare your character for different tasks. You'll need to learn how to use Ashes of War, how to two-hand weapons, or use magic spells during the course of your adventures. Many secrets are also waiting for you, such as, a hostile NPC Sellen that doesn't let you see her shop, an invisible man in a bush, or a huge turtle with a bell that lets you duplicate some very important items.
Thank you. I thought I was losing it with the invisible guy in the bush, looked everywhere for him ?
