Is Miquella in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree?

The trailer for the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC raised many questions, with one of the most obvious ones being – is Miquella going to appear in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree? As you know, Miquella is a character that is central to the backstory of many of Elden Ring’s most prominent characters. However, he has yet to make an appearance in person in the game itself. But it looks like Shadow of the Erdtree is set to change all that. So, is Miquella going to be featured in Shadow of the Erdtree, and if so – in what way? Here’s everything that we currently know about this.

Is Miquella in Shadow of the Erdtree?

While this hasn’t been confirmed, it’s practically guaranteed that Miquella is going to appear in Shadow of the Erdtree in some form or another. The shot of his cocoon has been prominently featured in the opening of the trailer, and a shot of – presumably – Miquella with his long golden hair, is used in the final shots of the trailer. And while the end of the trailer could simply be a flashback to how Miquella looked before he was abducted by Mohg, it could also be that we will have the option of somehow restoring the demigod to his former appearance.

Miquella Theories Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

Naturally, there are many theories floating around Miquella and his role in the DLC. One of these is that he is, in fact, the corrupted form of Messmer the Impaler. Or that Messmer is possibly the progeny of Miquella and Mohg. There’s likewise the chance that Miquella is the Chinese Dragon-like boss that we see in the trailer. Though, the only hint towards this being true is that both the dragon and Miquella have blonde hair. In any case, we won’t have to wait too long until we find out the truth, as Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is releasing on June 21st, 2024.
