Elden Ring Memory Slots, Increase Spell Slots
Figuring out how to increase memory slots in Elden Ring is really important, especially if you’re focusing on magic. These slots are spell slots, much like in many other fantasy RPGs. In other words, it’s how many spells, aka Incantations and Sorceries, you can have at your disposal at any given time. So, it’s necessary to have as many memory slots as possible. So, let’s find out how to get more of them, shall we?
How to Increase Memory Slots in Elden Ring
To increase memory slots in Elden Ring, there are two things that you can do. The first one is to raise your Mind stat. This controls how much FP you have, which is basically mana. However, it also grants you more memory slots as you level the stat up. For example, we got one more slot when we got to level 10. Not the fastest method, I grant you, but if you’re gonna be focusing on magic, you’ll be pouring resources into the Mind stat anyway. That said, it is really slow. That’s where the second method comes in.
Scattered around the map, you can find special towers that I can only describe as wizard towers. I say only say this because they’re usually locked with some sort of magic seal and are full of books and herbs and astrological equipment and the like. One such tower is Oridys’s Rise, which we’ll cover in another guide. Point is, these towers house Memory Stones; items which, once in your possession, increase your memory slots in Elden Ring. They’re not consumables; rather, they sit in the Key Items section of your inventory, and passively grant you extra spell slots.
And that about covers it. If we’ve missed any method for increasing the number of memory slots, let us know in the comments. Incidentally, you can switch the spells that are at your disposal at any site of grace (or bonfire, if you will). Your number of slots dictates how many you can have at the ready. So, the more of those you have, the more options will be available.
Very early in your exploration of Elden Ring world you will find out that you need to prepare your character for different tasks. You'll need to learn how to use Ashes of War, how to two-hand weapons, or use magic spells during the course of your adventures. Many secrets are also waiting for you, such as, a hostile NPC Sellen that doesn't let you see her shop, an invisible man in a bush, or a huge turtle with a bell that lets you duplicate some very important items.
