Elden Ring Icerind Hatchet Location
As every From Software player will tell you, acquiring better and more powerful gear is one of the driving reasons for playing these games, and Elden Ring is no different in this regard. Better armor will allow you to take more blows before dying, and better weapons will empower you with greater damage output and more abilities. The Icerind Hatchet is one of the more interesting – and lethal – weapons you can find in ER. This Str E and Dex D scaling Axe has a Str 11 and Dex 16 requirement, and bestows the Hoarfrost Stomp skill, as well as providing passive frost buildup. Of course, in order to get the Icerind Hatchet, you will first need to know its location in Elden Ring. We’re here to help you with that.
How to Get Icerind Hatchet in Elden Ring
To get the Icerind Hatchet, travel to the Temple Quarter. This location can be found in the Liurnia of the Lakes region. To save you the time you probably would have spent running (or riding) around looking for it, we’ve marked its location in the screenshot gallery below. This Axe is inside a chest underneath a small ruined church arch there. All you need to do is to (if you so choose) avoid the enemies on the way there and open the chest to get the Icerind Hatchet.
While the Icerind Hatchet cannot be infused using Ashes of War, it can still be upgrade with Smithing Stones. Its description states that it is: “A hatchet with a frost-coated blade. One of several gifts given by Castle Sol in the distant north. Known as “freezing fog,” the blade is thought to be a dragon’s scale. Inflicts a powerful frost effect.” By using its skill, the Hoarfrost Stomp, the player stomps their foot on the ground, causing a cone of damaging frost to emit forth.
Very early in your exploration of Elden Ring world you will find out that you need to prepare your character for different tasks. You'll need to learn how to use Ashes of War, how to two-hand weapons, or use magic spells during the course of your adventures. Many secrets are also waiting for you, such as, a hostile NPC Sellen that doesn't let you see her shop, an invisible man in a bush, or a huge turtle with a bell that lets you duplicate some very important items.
