Elden Ring How to Get to Church of Inhibition, Avoid Madness
The Church of Inhibition is one of the more interesting – and harder to get to – locations in Elden Ring. And, in a game filled with all sorts of fascinating and difficult areas, that’s saying something. What makes this location so frustrating is the fact that, to arrive there, you will need to find a way to avoid Madness, a crippling status effect. In this Elden Ring How to Get to Church of Inhibition, Avoid Madness guide, we will explain both how to get to this place, as well as the best methods to avoid Madness.
How to Get to Church of Inhibition in Elden Ring
The Church of Inhibition is a location in the Liurnia of the Lakes area. To be able to get there, you will have to pass through the Frenzied Flame Village. The problem with this is that, to the north of the village, there is a tower with several enemies at the top. These enemies will apply the Madness status effect on you from afar. Once the madness bar fills up, you will take a lot of damage. There are several methods to avoid this, and we will cover them all in the next section.
How to Avoid Madness in Elden Ring
The first thing you can do is to invest in some gear that will raise your Focus stat, like the Mushroom Armor Set. Next, you can craft Clarifying Boluses beforehand. This consumable lowers Madness buildup, so it is very useful here. Another method is to look out for rocks and other such objects that you can hide behind. Since enemies need a clear line of sight to do affect you with Madness and it drops off with time, you can wait it out and then proceed to the Church of Inhibition, bit by bit. Lastly, you can go to the tower with the six enemies and kill them there. Naturally, this will stop the Madness buildup.
Very early in your exploration of Elden Ring world you will find out that you need to prepare your character for different tasks. You'll need to learn how to use Ashes of War, how to two-hand weapons, or use magic spells during the course of your adventures. Many secrets are also waiting for you, such as, a hostile NPC Sellen that doesn't let you see her shop, an invisible man in a bush, or a huge turtle with a bell that lets you duplicate some very important items.
