Elden Ring Dung Eater Sewer Gaol Location
How to use a Sewer Gaol Key and where to find the Dung Eater in Elden Ring are two pieces of puzzle players can’t seem to connect easily. The Dung Eater is one of the characters you’ll meet at the Roundtable Hold. Unlike most of the other characters there, he’s rather unfriendly and would gladly kill you if not for the Roundtable Hold’s “no violence” rule. Upon visiting Leyndell, Royal Capital, he’ll give you the Capital Sewer Gaol Key. Not sure where to use Elden Ring Capital Sewer Gaol Key and how to find the Dung Eater? Check out our guide.
Where to Find the Dung Eater in the Capital Sewer Gaol
For the purpose of this guide, we’re going to assume that you’ve already explored Leyndell and are familiar with most of the points of interest in the capital. To find the Dung Eater, we will use the Lower Capital Church as a starting point. Directly opposite its entrance, there is a ladder leading down to a sewer tunnel below. Go down there, and then left through the tunnel. Just follow the tunnel until you reach a room on the other end with another ladder leading up. You’ll need to beat a strong fire-spewing enemy there.
Once you climb the ladder, turn immediately right and down the stairs. Use the left side of the forked staircase (as shown in the screenshot below) all the way down, and then jump up the hill left and proceed to collapsed roofs. Follow the path through roofs and crumpled walls to enter a new area. Fight off some enemies, explore the area, and you’ll find a well. Jump straight down the well, and go through the gate on your left. We are now in Leyndell’s Sewers, and really close to finding the Dung Eater.
Dung Eater Capital Sewer Gaol Location
Shortly after the gate, there will be a drop-down to the lower sewers. Go right, then turn through the tunnel left. From there just go straight to the end of the tunnel and you’ll enter the Subterranean-Shunning Grounds area. These tunnels are dark and full of gigantic rats, so be careful. Continue forward until you are on a platform with a tunnel below you. Use the ladder on the left side to bring yourself down, and then continue in that direction. On your left there will be a door with a site of grace inside, make sure to activate it. Go out and continue left, until you reach a hole that leads to another tunnel even further down below.
Follow the only path through the tunnel. There are some rats as well as some nasty mutant flowers that can poison you. At the end of that tunnel, there is another ladder, but this time around, we are going up. When you climb up, turn right and there will be a door. And behind that door, the Dung Eater! It’s a really long and complicated path to find this location, let alone the Dung Eater inside it. Most of the players could probably completely miss it during their first playthrough.
