Should You Take Side With Simon or Raghnall in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Without going into any spoilers, we recommend you side with Ragnall and not Simon in the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Tension on the Highroad side quest. By that, I mean that you should attack Simon and his men when the skirmish starts, rather than attacking Ragnall. I am going to explain why from here on out. If you prefer to not know and discover the reasoning for yourself, stop reading now. Still here? Alright, let’s get into the details, shall we?

Right, so the initial reason we opted fight with rather than against Raghnall was incidental. We just happened upon the bandit earlier, in a zone far above our level. He seemed pretty affable. On the other hand, Simon is smarmy and annoying. So, we chose to side with Raghnall instead of Simon in Dragon’s Dogma 2 entirely on vibes alone. We ended up slaying the arrogant knight and his men. But then, the bandit told us to find him later, and he would explain everything. So, that’s what we did. We went further south, to Guerco Cavern, and found Raghnall again.

You then have to fight alongside him until you reach the exit from the cave. After that, Raghnall reveals the truth: Simon meant to kill Augustin (or have him killed, same difference) and pin it on the player. So, yeah; as I’ve said in other guides already, it’s difficult to know who to trust in this game. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears to the ground.
