“The Phantom Oxcart” is one of the most interesting and unique quests in all of Dragon’s Dogma 2. You learn that there is a strange ethereal oxcart that only appears after sunset. Naturally, you are sent to investigate this strange occurance. There are several reasons why this quest can be difficult to solve, so we are going to show you how to pursue the oxcart in Dragon’s Dogma 2, so that you can successfully complete The Phantom Oxcart Quest.
How to Pursue the Oxcart in Dragon’s Dogma 2 – Phantom Oxcart Quest
Once you have received this quest, go to the part of the map that has been marked by this quest. When you get there, you’ll need to then wait until nightfall. You will soon get a cutscene in which Nevil is selling off a number of Pawns to Mansenn. If you try to give chase to the oxcart, it will disappear. Go back and speak to Nevil. You’ll learn that he has been bringing Pawns here in order to cover his gambling debts. He will give you a document that reveals that there is a reward out for Pawns. You can either take Nevil’s money and let him go, or turn him in to the guards.
Whatever you choose here, the next step is to go and talk to Brant. Give him this document, and he will present two options on how to get to the bottom of this mystery. You can either follow the Phantom Oxcart from a safe distance, or alternatively, you can pretend to be a Pawn and board the Oxcart this way. Let’s see how both of these options work in action. Start by going to the same area as before and once again waiting until it’s after sunset. When the Phantom Oxcart appears, you can then either strip down so that you are naked, or run behind it. Either way, you’ll soon arrive at the Battahl Border. Once there, wait for the guards and merchant to finish speaking. After a short cutscene, you’ll find yourselves in combat against Robellt and his henchmen. Take care of them to get the Labor Requisition Orders. Take this document back to Brant to complete the Phantom Oxcart Quest.
