The new patch for Doom Eternal, Update 6, is now out for free for all of you. Slayers that are fortunate enough to have new-gen consoles will finally get to enjoy visual upgrades, including new graphics modes and more. Regardless of the platform you’re playing on, you’ll be able to sink your teeth into the new Battlemode arena, Master Level, etc.

Doom Eternal Update 6 Brings Next-Gen Visuals & Much More

The main draw of Update 6, as far as next-gen console owners are concerned, is that it adds support for upgraded visuals. So, we’re gonna detail all the new stuff the patch adds in the list below. The devs really give you a lot of options to play around with, if you’re lucky enough to own a new machine.

  • Xbox Series X
    • Three New Graphics Modes
      • Ray Tracing Mode running at 1800p/60 FPS
      • Performance Mode running at 1800p/120 FPS
      • Balanced Mode running at 4K/60 FPS
    • HDR 10 in any Graphics Mode
    • Ultra-Quality Style Graphics Settings
    • Cross-Gen BATTLEMODE support with XBox One
    • Variable Refresh Rate
    • Variable Rate Shading
  • Xbox Series S
    • Exactly the same as Series X, but without the Ray Tracing Mode.
  • PlayStation 5
    • Three New Graphics Modes
      • Ray Tracing Mode running at 1800p/60 FPS
      • Performance Mode running at 1800p/120 FPS
      • Balanced Mode running at 4K/60 FPS
    • HDR 10 in any Graphics Mode
    • Ultra-Quality Style Graphics Settings
    • Cross-Gen BATTLEMODE support with PlayStation 4
    • DualSense adaptive trigger support
  • PC
    • Ray Tracing Mode: Availability and performance depends on a user’s PC hardware.

When it comes to content that all Slayers will get to enjoy, you can look forward to the new Battlemode map called Corrosion and the new Master Level, Taras Nabad. There are also new cosmetics to earn, like the Ray Tracer skin and the Teal Chrome skins. It’s not too huge, but just enough to mix things up.
