The Division 2 Year 1 Pass Paid & Free Content Revealed
Ubisoft has revealed the roadmap for The Division 2 Year 1. We’re talking both paid content in the Year 1 Pass, and a lot of free content that will be available to all. This includes new story episodes, a raid, a stronghold, three specializations, and so much more.
Okay, so, let’s begin with the free content that everyone will have access to. The party begins not long after launch, with Tidal Basin, a Black Tusk faction stronghold. Then, there’ll be Operation Dark Hours, which will be the first eight-player raid in the series. Now we get to the heart of the matter: the three episodes. The first one will be called D.C. Outskirts, sending you to the, well, outskirts of D.C. in two additional missions. This episode will also introduce a new game mode, where you’ll be investigating what happened to a lost convoy.
The second episode, Pentagon: The Last Castle, will have you exploring the remains of the Pentagon and uncovering further secrets. It’ll be a whole bunch of new missions sending you to plumb the depths of the building. The third episode doesn’t have a name yet. What we know is that it will round off the story of the first year of The Division 2, and set up Year 2. Lastly, there will be three new specialization for you to customize your playstyle even further.
So, if all that stuff is for free, then what do extra-paying customers get? What are the advantages of getting the year pass? Oh, there are many. For one, you’ll get access to the new episodes a full week before everybody else. Also, the specializations will unlock for you instantly, while others have to work for them. You’ll also get eight exclusive Classified Assignments, to uncover more lore and earn cosmetic items upon completing them. Want more? How about extra bounties and projects every week until March 1st 2020? And further exclusive cosmetic rewards? That should be enough, I’d say.
So, that’s the stuff you can look forward to in the first year of The Division 2. The game itself is coming out on Friday, March 15th, 2019. You’ll be able to pick it up on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The year pass is available as a part of the Gold or Ultimate Editions of The Division 2. It’ll also be available for separate purchase after launch.
