Division 2 Gunner New Specialization Announced for This Month

It’s near time for the new specialization in Division 2 – The Gunner, aka the badass with the minigun. This is going to be the avenue for those that like to both tank and output damage at an even pace. Or, as the announcement puts it: “With an emphasis on sustained damage output and damage resilience, the Gunner will serve as the vanguard of SHD Agents in the ongoing fight to reclaim the city.” So, yeah. Sounds like it’s gonna be as close to the Terminator as you can get in The Division 2.

Judging by the announcement, the Gunner is gonna be really cool. When you activate the weapon, the Gunner gets bonus armor correspondent to your Specialization Ammo count. This will allow you to tank pretty efficiently for short periods of time. Oh, and you’re doing suppressive fire with your minigun the whole time. The “only” downside is that you can’t duck, roll, or vault. Also, the Gunner comes equipped with the Banshee Signature Skill, which “ignores cover and causes its targets to become confused.” Lastly, the Gunner gets the Riot Foam grenade, which traps enemies.

Now, as for when exactly the Gunner will become available for all, we don’t know that yet. It’s going up on the Public Test Server today, June 4th. The devs are going to need as much feedback as they can until the specialization rolls out in Title Update 4. Said title update is going to launch some time this month, so keep your peepers peeled.
