Diablo 4 Night's Grasp Explained (Shard of Dawn Aspect)
If you are wondering what is Night’s Grasp in Diablo 4’s Midwinter Blight event, you’ve come to the right place! The very first winter holiday event has just kicked off in Diablo IV. Called Midwinter Blight, this frosty event comes stacked with new content. There are new activities, gameplay features, rewards, and cosmetics! However, some things are not particularly clear to players. In this guide, we explain all you need to know about Diablo IV’s Nights Grasp and the Shard of Dawn Aspect.
What is Night’s Grasp in Diablo 4 the Midwinter Blight Event?
Before we explain what is Night’s Grasp in Diablo 4, we must first talk about the Shard of Dawn offensive aspect. This new offensive seasonal aspect is a part of the Midwinter Blight event. You will be able to purchase this aspect from Gileon, the bard, at the Midwinter Square in Kyovashad. The Shard of Dawn will cost you 10x Midwinter Proof. This is a new event resource, which you can use to purchase Midwinter rewards from Gileon. The Shard of Dawn effect reads as follows:
“After 30 seconds of Night’s Grasp, gain Dawn’s Haste, increasing your Attack Speed by [25 – 35]% and Movement Speed by 20% for 12 seconds. While empowered by the Midwinter Ward, killing an enemy reduces Night’s Grasp’s duration by 1 second.”
What has numerous players confused is the question of what exactly is this “Night’s Grasp” effect in Diablo 4. The Shard of Dawn’s tooltip doesn’t exactly explain this properly, and that’s what has perplexed many players. Well, Night’s Grasp is simply a status effect the Shard of Dawn applies to you. It’s basically just a fancy name for those 30 seconds before you gain the Dawn’s Haste effect. That wind-up period of 30 seconds is called Night’s Grasp, and there’s nothing more to it.
Finally, we should mention that you can reduce this 30-second status effect by 1 second each time you eliminate an enemy while under the Midwinter Ward status. You gain the Midwinter Ward status when activating a totem in Kyovashad. With that said, that’s about all you need to know.
