Deus Ex Mankind Divided Gameplay Presentation
Square Enix have publised a new video of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The video is gameplay footage from last night’s Twitch presentation, which shows off the dystopian Prague, multiple approaches to missions and travelling through the city, Adam not asking for stuff.
The video shows the events unfolding the day after the Prague bombing (which we’ve seen in earlier trailers).
It all takes place in the poor part of the city, where all the augs have been cordoned off. Police are strict about having papers and local gangsters are bullying the populace. There’s a way around every conflict – you don’t have to fight, and if you choose to, you can always just subdue your opponents instead of killing them.
The annoying item highlights are back, outlining every object we can interact with, turning the open world into a theme park ride. They can hopefully be turned off, like in the previous game.
Some new augmentations have been shown off, like the knuckle gun that can shoot blades or stun arrows. Hacking is back and it looks exactly the same as before – boring and tedious. The person narrating the presentation claims it’s going to be much more involved and tactical, but it seems like a graphically spruced-up version of the system from Human Revolution. Looks can be deceiving, so we hope we’re wrong.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is going to launch on August 23rd, on PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.
