This Week Destiny Heroic & Nightfall Strikes require Dark Below DLC

The first Destiny expansion The Dark Below launched today. It brought a good portion of new content and updates to existing items. But some people on Reddit and on Bungie’s forums were quite disappointed with Bungie’s decision to allow only those who bought The Dark Below access to this week’s Heroic and Nightfall strikes.

Activision has responded to GameInformer’s request for more information on what’s happening with locked Weekly Heroic and Nightfall Strikes.

“All existing strikes and maps are still accessible. Specific activities like nightfall will periodically feature expansion 1 content on the week the newest content is live. New public events, updated weapons and gear, new bounties, and of course the steady stream of updates are all available without additional cost to all players.”
