Destiny Iron Banner 3.0 event is scheduled for December 16th

According to the latest Bungie Weekly Update The Iron Banner event returns to Destiny on December 16, 2014. Lord Saladin will make his appearance once again in the Tower where he’ll reset Event Standings.

Since the Dark Below Expansion starts on December 9th, 2014 Iron Banner winners will be able to earn level 31 items. Don’t waste Motes of Light on reforging old Iron Banner weapons because they will not get the new Attack stat!

Iron Banner Bounties

Each bounty rewards you with iron Banner Standing +100 and Experience + 5000

Hard Forged – Earn 10000 XP while competing in the Iron Banner tournament.
Iron Embrace – Defeat 10 Guardians with a close quarters Melee attack while competing in the Iron Banner tournament.
Iron Wrath – Defeat 10 Guardians without dying while competing in the Iron Banner tournament.
Focused Aggressiona – Defeat 20 Guardians with Auto Rifle headshots while competing in the Iron Banner tournament.
Exacting Measures – Earn 5 Headshot Sprees while competing in the Iron Banner tournament.
The Chaos and the Calm – Defeat 10 Guardians with Machine Gun headshots while competing in the Iron Banner tournament.

All changes that have been implemented to the previous Iron Banner 2.0 event will be applied to the upcoming event:

Power. Does. Matter! (no, really)

Only players Level 20 and above can lead a Fireteam
Players below Level 20 can accompany more powerful friends
Players within 3 Levels can be competitive with each other
Your DEFENSE rating affects how you take damage
- Wear your best (highest rated) armor
- Players out of your league will seem like a Boss
Your ATTACK rating affects how you inflict damage
- Equip your best (highest rated) weapons
- Lower-level players wielding fully-upgraded weapons should still be considered a very credible threat!

Claim victory to gain reputation.

Lord Saladin now has five ranks to obtain through victory –
Rank 1 unlocks Iron Banner emblem,
Rank 2 unlocks Iron Banner Shader,
Rank 3 – unlocks Iron Banner Armor Item and weapons,
Rank 4 – unlocks Iron Banner Armor Items, Class Items and Weapons,
Rank 5 unlocks Iron Banner Weapon Item, Unlock Iron Banner Shader Item
Your previous Iron Banner rank has been preserved
The Tempered buff is a twelve-hour boost in reputation gains
Activate Tempered later during the event to catch up faster

Increase your Rank to unlock better gear
Reforge weapons to reset progression with new perks
Increase your Event Standing to unlock better weapons and gear from Lord Saladin. Upgraded gauntlets and boots provide a path to Level 31

Quitters never win.

Reputation gains are awarded only to the winners
Defeat grants a token to be redeemed after a future win
You can carry up to five Iron Medallions at any time
Partial reputation gains are earned instantly upon victory
