Destiny 2 Pain And Gain Exotic Quest
Pain and Gain is an exotic quest in Destiny 2. It was added in the Shadowkeep expansion. You can pick it up immediately after you start the DLC, and it’ll reward you with a new exotic weapon. If you’re wondering how to complete any of the steps, our Destiny 2 Pain And Gain exotic quest guide will help you.
How to start Pain & Gain exotic quest?
When you first start the game after buying the expansion, you’ll be able to pick this quest up. Go to the Tower and talk to Banshe-44, the gunsmith robot. He’ll offer you the exotic quest in the form of an item. The first step will contain three objectives, all relatively easy to complete – especially if you’re a returning player.
Joy in Suffering – EDZ lost sector, heroic public event, nightfall strike
The three tasks required for this step are completing a lost sector on EDZ, a heroic public event and a nightfall strike. There’s a lost sector near every landing point in the European Dead Zone, so just land there and open up the map – you’ll find them all on the map. Any heroic public event will do, so try to do one you’re certain you can trigger – we have a guide which can help you trigger heroic public events. Finally, there’s the nightfall. Arguably the hardest step, since you can’t choose which one you’ll do – you get one per week, and if you don’t like it or can’t complete it, you’ll have to wait a week for a new one to appear in the rotation. Use a LFG site or Discord server to gather a fire team, and make sure you communicate well.
Risk Reward – Defeat Dusk captains
The next step will require you to complete a mission at the EDZ. It’s called Risk/Reward, and it’s a pretty straightforward thing – except for one part. You’ll have to defeat 3 Dusk captains before you can down the Walker. The captains won’t be marked on the map when you get the objective. The reason for this is that they don’t spawn until you’ve killed enough of the regular enemies. When you fill up the invisible gauge, a shielded enemy called Captain, House of Dusk will appear. Kill him and repeat the process until there’s no more of them left.
Once you’ve finished the mission, you’ll get an exotic rifle. You might think this is just an interim reward, because you’ll have to talk to Banshee-44 again, but no, this is the real deal. That is your exotic reward.

The risk/reward mission is the best place to power level to 900. Don’t complete the mission, just farm the Fallen tank. The chest drops every time loot at a higher LL
Don’t bother, it’s just a *******.
