Destiny 2 Nascent Dawn 1/5 Quest - Where to Use Override Frequency

Nascent Dawn 1/5 is a quest in Destiny 2. It’s one of the missions that appear after you’ve completed the story, and it’s supposed to teach you how to use override frequencies. However, it doesn’t do a very good job. A lot of players are stumped by the concept, and cannot complete it. In this guide, we’re going to help you finish the Destiny 2 Nascent Dawn 1/5 quest, and show you where to use the override frequency.

Destiny 2 Nascent Dawn 1/5 Quest – Where to Use Override Frequency

Where to use Override Frequency in Nascent Dawn 1/5?

When you finally collect four Resonate Stems, you will be able to combine them into your first Override Frequency. After you’ve done this, you’ll have to use that to open up the appropriate Sleeper Node. This is where things get messy – the quest log won’t tell you where to find that particular node.

Here’s what you need to do: find the Override Frequency in your inventory. Not the Nascent Dawn quest item, but the frequency you crafted. Inspect it, and you’ll find hints in the description. It’ll mention the area you need to look in (Glacial Drift, Alton Dynamo, etc), as well as a landmark that should help you pinpoint the exact location. When you’re close enough the the node, it’ll start playing music. Just follow the sound and you’ll find it in no time. Keep in mind they’re often well hidden – inside other objects, in dark or rarely visited places.

Once you’re done with the quest, you might want to look for other Sleeper Nodes – after all, there are about forty of them, and who knows what happens when you’ve opened them all. You’re going to have to complete a lot of activities, though. If each node needs a frequency, that means you’ll have to collect about a hundred and twenty resonate stems.

So, how do you get Resonate Stems while doing Nascent Dawn 1/5?

I did all of the quests that showed up on the map. I’ve done strikes. I’ve done public events. I did all of that, on Mars, with that hand-cannon equipped, and after repeating this for hours on end, I only have the single Resonate Stem that was given to me during one of the quests.

You might want to update this. As there is no longer a landmark given on the map… Or well that’s what I understand from your guide, but though the Override Frequency does give a hint as to the location such as mine (CB.NAV/RUN.()Dynamo.Approach.Arch) it doesn’t give any indication of it on the map at all.

Just occurred to me that having something only able to be located by the sound of music would exclude anyone that had trouble hearing by default…. I play without music so I don’t hear music playing on my game normally but at least I can turn it on if needed people that can’t hear would just be out of luck unless they look for map guides.

Anyway thanks for the information, at least now I know why I could never find it.

    160 resonate stems, not 120.
