Can’t Focus Trials Engrams in Destiny 2 Lightfall

Destiny 2 Lightfall, the newest D2 expansion, is finally here! And with it, Season 20 ensues. And while there are many things to be excited about, there are also quite a few unpleasant surprises. Aside from the issue with Xbox consoles, many players report that they can’t redeem their Trials Engrams following the Destiny 2 Lightfall update.

“I’m unable to redeem the Trials engrams I was hoarding for legacy gear,” says Reddit user Nillionnaire. “Does anyone else have this issue? Has it been recognized by Bungie?” Another user complains that he can’t get the Trials Armor. Of course, they have the required seven engrams.

So, why is this happening? Is this a bug or an intended feature? Unfortunately, this is due to the new engram system introduced with this update. Namely, with the new system, all the engrams reside on the vendor screen. What this means is that if you happen to have some engrams on your character, they are essentially rendered useless, and you can not Focus them. If you have any left with Saint-14 (the Trials of Osiris vendor), they still count. You will be able to redeem those Trials Engrams and use them for focusing.

So there you have it. That’s why you can not use your Trials Engrams in Destiny 2 Lightfall. Because they must be with the vendor, not on your character. For now, we don’t know if Bungie will allow players to transfer their Engrams or if you will be permeasntrly locked out of using them. We will make sure to update the article once we have more information.
