How to Get Altered Element in Destiny 2
Altered Element is a new currency in Destiny 2. It was introduced in the Season of Arrivals, and it is required if you want to use the Prismatic Recaster to affect the outcome of umbral engram decryption. As such, it’s going to be pretty relevant, at least until everyone gets their hands on the new gear they want most. If you’re wondering how to earn sufficient amounts of it to cover the costly business of using the Drifter’s device, this guide will show you how to get altered element in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 Altered Element
You obviously know what the altered element currency is used for, otherwise you wouldn’t be here. But how to get it? That’s the burning question. As far as we can tell, there’s only one way to obtain altered element, at least for now, and it’s completing daily bounties from the Prismatic Recaster. Just keep doing these as long as you are able and willing – each one will reward you with a tiny sum of altered element. If you spend all of the daily bounties available, don’t bother with the repeatable one – it’ll just give you XP.
Once you’ve amassed enough altered element, you’ll also need some umbral engrams. You can get them by doing pretty much anything, but your best bet would be the new activities, like the Contact public event and the Interference mission. The Prophecy dungeon is also a good choice, and it’s a fun challenge, but it takes a while to complete. Not to mention you have to fulfill the light level requirements and gather a semi-decent fireteam for it, which is often easier said than done.
We’re going to keep at it, and if we discover any other ways to obtain altered element, we’ll be sure to update the guide.
