Destiny 2 Beta Vex Launchers Discovered in Nessus Strike Area

Destiny 2 beta is pretty straightforward, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any secrets in it. Enterprising players have discovered something in the Inverted Spire strike area on Nessus. It’s a chain of secret Vex launchers that can be used to cross the large milk lakes, but don’t seem to lead anywhere. However, that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about what the launchers will do in the game proper.

Vex secret launchers in Destiny 2 beta

Reaching the launchers is easy enough. You just need to start the Inverted Spire strike and head right once you spawn. Jump down to the island and get to the other side. You’ll have to climb the ruins. Once you’re at the top, you’ll see a milk waterfall below – jump across it, and you’ll end up at the first launcher. That’s it. After a while, a few enemies will spawn, and the launcher should activate once they’re dead.

It will take you across the vast lake, where you’ll have to repeat the process. After several jumps, you’ll end up by the first launcher, but it’s going to be guarded by stronger enemies this time around. You can go for another round, but nothing will happen. After a while, the launchers will deactivate, leaving you stranded in a sea of milk. Here’s a video showing what it looks like, in case you don’t have access to the beta.

There are already a few theories about what these launchers do in the full game. The most prominent one claims they’re used to open the Lost Sector door, the triangle-shaped stone gate like the one found in the Vault of Glass from the first game. The beta is on until the end of the week, so the community still might find out what’s the deal with the secret vex launchers.
