Death Stranding Increase Carry Weight & Capacity
Carry weight is the main limiting factor when making deliveries in Death Stranding. Sam can only carry so much cargo, and he moves really slowly, so you’ll want to increase your carry capacity any way you can. There are several ways to do this, but you’ll have to progress through the story before you unlock them. This guide is going to show you how to increase carry weight in Death Stranding, so you can be a better, more efficient porter.
How to increase carry weight?
The first way to increase your carry capacity is to raise your porter grade. Doing this will slowly increase your delivery volume stat, which allows you to carry more cargo. There’s only one way to do this, and it’s successfully completing deliveries. Just keep grinding and you’ll get better at it.
You can also use vehicles to increase your capacity. The reverse trike, like the first motorcycle, won’t be of much use here, but trucks are great for transporting goods. You can either snatch one in the wild, or wait for a blueprint from Distribution Center South of Lake Knot City.
Then there’s the power skeleton, the exo suit that lets you carry more stuff. You’ll get it from the Engineer, who can also provide blueprints for upgrades – for this, you’ll have to increase your connection to him.
Finally, you can use the Floating Carrier. It’s a low-flying platform that moves behind you and can carry quite a lot. You’ll unlock it when you strand the Weather Station during Order No.27 – Chiralium Gauge Delivery: Weather Station. You’ll get one of them from the quest, and you’ll be able to craft more later, thanks to the blueprint. Just drop it on the floor and interact with it to start placing stuff on the carrier.
