Dark Souls 3 The Fire Fades Complete Edition Coming Soon

Without any flashy announcements, almost no pomp whatsoever, the Complete Edition of Dark Souls 3 appears to have shown up on Amazon. It’s called The Fire Fades, and it’s currently going at a price of $49.99. For now, it seems that it’s only available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There’s no mention of a PC edition yet, although, you can bet that it’s coming down the pipeline. You can already pre-order The Fire Fades, and the release date is April 21st, 2017.

The Fire Fades contains pretty much everything you could expect from a complete edition. Aside from the base Dark Souls 3, you’ll also get the Ashes of Ariandel and The Ringed City DLCs. On top of that, you’ll get all of the PvP maps that have been introduced to the game. The text on the Amazon page also boasts “improved online matchmaking functionality”. Everything you need for a complete Dark Souls 3 experience.

Considering that this is the final goodbye to the Dark Souls franchise, the name The Fire Fades is the ideal name. After the last DLC, The Ringed City, there will be no more Dark Souls material, according to director Hidetaka Miyazaki. You have to admire people that quit when they’re ahead, instead of milking a well-beloved franchise well after its best-before date. We’ll see what the future has in store for From Studios. They’ve certainly managed to perfect and reinvent a genre, so it’ll be interesting to see what they’ll give us in the time to come.
