Cyberpunk 2077 has been causing quite the stir in the gaming community since CD Projekt Red showed off some of it at E3. One of the questions that came up was whether the game would come out on current-gen consoles. It makes sense that people would wonder this. The game looks incredible. Plus, according to the people that saw a 50-minute demo at E3, Cyberpunk 2077 seems like a very demanding game. Just the crowds of people in Night City and the environments would push current-console hardware to the limit.

Fortunately, quest designer Patrick Mills cleared up the confusion in a recent interview with Game Informer. When the question came up, he said: “I’ve heard a number of people say that. The current console generation is what we’re aiming for. We are aiming for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and of course PC as well.” So, there you have it, PS4 and Xbox One owners. You needn’t fear; Cyberpunk 2077 will be arriving for your machines. You won’t have to upgrade to a new, more powerful system to play it. Now, will Cyberpunk 2077 come out for the new console generations? we can’t say for sure, but I’m confident that it will.

In other Cyberpunk 2077 news, Mills has also stated that you won’t be able to play Cyberpunk 2077 as a pacifist. He clarified: “You do play as a mercenary, so there are not non-violent solutions to all problems. It’s not possible go through the game non-violently. You’re a mercenary. Your job is violence.” However, he also said is that they want to “provide room for subtlety and less aggressive options,” so bullet-to-the-head won’t necessarily be the only solution at all times.
