How to Turn On Proximity Chat in Warzone 2

Proximity chat – the ability to hear and have voice conversations with anyone nearby – is one of the most exciting new features added in Warzone 2. It is integrated into both battle royale and DMZ modes. Proximity chat allows you to track enemies by hearing their voices, or to simply have friendly banter with your opponents with some benevolent taunts. It serves both strategic roles and just for pure fun. Because of that, it’s no wonder that many players will want to try it out immediately. However, it seems that some players are not sure how to turn on Warzone 2 proximity chat. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Press the “Options” button.
  • Head to the Settings tab (a cog icon).
  • Open the “Audio” settings.
  • Scroll down to the “Voice Chat section.
  • Toggle the “Proximity Chat” option On or Off.

So, there you have it, that’s how to turn on or off Proximity Chat in Warzone 2. However, some players report that this feature is currently bugged for them and it doesn’t work. First off, make sure that you are using the in-game party chat, and not a PSN party or Discord, for example. The Proximity Chat will only work with in-game chat. For some players, the option to turn Proximity Chat On/Off is greyed out and they can’t toggle it. As we said, this might be because your in-game voice chat is turned off. Thus, make sure to enable Warzone 2 voice chat first, and then proximity chat will probably work as well.

Finally, make sure that you have selected the correct audio input and output devices in the in-game settings (your headset and mic). For now, that’s all we know about the “Warzone 2 Proximity Chat Not Working” issue. If we stumble upon any other solutions, we will share them with you.
