How to Fix Stuck on Shaders Optimization in MW2

To fix the Stuck on Shaders Optimization bug in MW2, you first have to check whether your Modern Warfare 2 is truly bugged. What do I mean by that? Well, it might just be the case that your PC can’t handle the game. Be sure to double-check whether you meet at least the minimum requirements to run MW2. If not, well, there’s your problem. If that’s not the cause, then it’s definitely the bug. Fortunately, there’s a set of relatively simple steps that you can follow to get rid of the issue. First off, start the game. Once you’re in, navigate to the settings and go into the Display tab. Scroll all the way to “Restart Shaders Optimization” and click it. Wait for the process to finish.

That should fix the bug, and MW2 will no longer be stuck on shaders optimization. Basically, you’ve just cleared the shaders cache and did a fresh install and re-optimization. The downside is that you’ll have to go through the same process whenever you update your drivers, and likely whenever you update the game, too. It’s a hassle, but at least it’s nothing too major. God knows this game is buggier than an unkempt back yard. If you know of any other potential fixes, let us know in the comments. Hello there

i have tried several times to restart the shader optimizer but i have it still stuck at 6% and not moving forward at all.

I also do have a powerful PC which should support the game requirement.

    Any Advise

On battlenet: Change language setting to your regions language.
Go to “Modify Install” (The cog next to the play button). From there you can change the language.
Had the same issue and this fixed it.
