How to Fix MW2 Files Failed To Validate Issue

The first solution for this problem, and one that has helped many players, is to go to your steamapp files. Once there, look for the CoDMW2 installation, and delete the leftover MW2 Beta files from there. If that doesn’t do the trick, then the next step is to Verify the integrity of game files in Steam. Right-click on the MW2 installation in your Steam game library and select Properties. From there, go to the Local Files tab and select the option to verify game files. Doing this will redownload the missing or corrupted files. After that, if you are still having this problem, you need to uninstall and reinstall the game. However, when reinstalling it, make sure that you have selected a different drive or disk than the one you originally installed it on.

And if the problem is still persisting even after that, the next step here is to check for any system updates. Go to the Windows update tab and if there is an update available, you will have the option of downloading and installing it. You should also check to see if you have the latest GPU Drivers installed. Go to here for Nvidia devices, and here for AMD devices. Finally, if everything else has failed, the only thing left is to contact MW2 support directly for further assistance.

    no way

the beta files are back one directory when you click “browse local files” from steams properties menu.. the full game is installed in a folder called Call of Duty HQ or something like that and right under it will be the folder for the beta. it should say “Beta” at the end of the file name. press and hold Shift key and press the Delete key and confirm you want to permanently erase the data/folder.
