How to start Trial of Supremacy

In order to start the BL3 Trial of Supremacy, you first need to unlock the proving grounds mode. This can be done by finishing the game, then using the Eridian Analyzer to decipher all of the Eridian Writings collectibles.

After you’ve done that, you’ll have to visit a place in Desolation’s Edge where you’ll get a quest to unlock the Trial of Supremacy. Complete it, and you’ll be able to start the Trial through the matchmaking menu.

Trial of Supremacy location in Borderlands 3

The Trial of Supremacy is situated in the Hall of Obsidian, a place in the southwest of Nekrotafeyo, in Desolation’s Edge. Go there and talk to the Overseer – this will allow you to start the trial.

There are four areas in the trial, and you have to clear each in order to progress into the next. There’s a drop leading into the last area, so you can’t back out of it once you’re there. The only way out after you jump down is to defeat the boss. Keep in mind that you can drop off the map during the trial – be careful while around the edges.

If you have trouble finding any of the other proving grounds, we have also written a bigger guide with all proving grounds locations.

If you're having trouble with other things in the game, you might want to check out some of the other guides we've written. We've listed the locations of Red Chests, Typhon Logs, Dead Claptrap Parts and Hijack Targets. We've explored the mission choices, like what happens when you side with Holder or Ramsden in On The Blood Path, or when you tell Rhys to keep or lose mustache in Atlas at Last. We've also covered secrets, like the one where you have to open the Holy Broadcast Center locked door.
