Not only can you migrate Borderlands 3 for free onto the new generation of consoles, but this also includes all the DLC that you’ve bought, and your saves. You’re not going to lose a single thing you’ve achieved. Gearbox claim that it will run at 60 fps and in 4K in single player on next-gen, so that’s cool, too. So far, so good, but that’s not where the upgrades stop. There will be new co-op stuff; namely, vertical split-screen for two players and four-player split-screen for local multiplayer (both also coming on PS4 and Xbox One via free update).

There’s also new content for the game in the pipeline. For example, you can expect to see a new game mode, new skill trees for all classes, and new action skills, all of it paid DLC, unfortunately. They’ve also dropped some hints towards at potential crossplay which might arrive at some point in 2021. Oh, and FL4K will get a new pet, the Hyperion Loaderbot, which is kinda fun. We’ll see how it all works when it comes out.

So, yeah, there you have it. That’s what you lovely Borderlands 3 players can look forward to in the recent future. There’s no set release date for the upgraded versions, but I assume it’ll be some time in 2021. At the time of writing, you can get the game on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Google Stadia, and Mac.
