Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass DLC News

Dice has released new concept art from the They shall not pass DLC for Battlefield 1. They’ve posted multiple concept pictures along with some details on where the new maps will take place. They mention the famous battle of Verdun, and the fact that around 1 million shells were fired in the opening barrage, which created massive forest fires that could be seen from far away. Maybe we will see some kind of dynamic event with a massive forest fire that will change the way the map plays out, which could definitely be a great addition to the game, bringing a terrifying environmental effect.

The Battle of Verdun lasted 9 months, and Dice say that they want us to be a part of the intense attacks that took place in the cold February of 1916. The battles in Fort Vaux could also be on the table. Both French and German forces fought fiercely in dark corridors using grenades, flamethrowers, and poison gasses. Maybe we can expect something similar to Operation Locker from Battlefield 4 or Metro from Battlefield 3, with some tight close quarter infantry engagements.

The developers have also said that there will be 20 new weapons. Those will be a great addition to the game and hopefully they will not be overpowered, compared to the weapons in the base game. We definitely don’t want to see premium players getting an advantage in battle just because they bought the premium pack.

They shall not pass will be released on March 27th, and premium players will get their hands on the new maps and weapons a few weeks earlier.
