While BG3 had its fair share of bugs on release – especially in the later parts of the game – the developers at Larian Studios have been hard at work to deliver a steady streams of hotfixes and big patches to fix all of these up. And Patch 5 is promising to continue with this and to make the game even better. While not all of the things that are coming as part of it have been confirmed so far, here’s what you can expect from the BG3 Patch 5 Early Notes, Fixes & Changes that we currently know of.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 5 Early Notes & Fixes
So, while we don’t know everything that is coming to Baldur’s Gate III as part of Patch #5, there are several things that have been officially confirmed by the devs themselves. Let’s start with animations. Specifically – Astarion’s kissing animations. These will now work as intended, so you will once again be able to make out with everybody’s sarcastic elven Vampire spawn. Next up, a fix to a problem that was introduced in Patch #4. Namely, there is a bug where the crime detection system in the game causes huge slowdowns.
But by far the most important of these changes is the upcoming change to Act 3. As you no doubt know, Act 3 is the buggiest part of the game. Issues here include not just technical ones such as graphical glitches and crashing, but also bugs in quest design and so on. So the fact that it is getting a (hopefully) substantial makeover is excellent news all by itself. And more minor (and probably major as well) fixes and changes are sure to come. The BG3 Patch 5 is releasing soon, and we are going to bring you the full list of all the fixes and changes as soon as it is revealed.
