BG3 Necromancy of Thay Location, Find a Way to Finish Book of Thay
There are many powerful items you can get in Baldur’s Gate III. Though, as befits their status, the most legendary of these are also the hardest to obtain. The Necromancy of Thay is an odd book that you can come across relatively early in your adventures. But, when you obtain it, the book still isn’t complete. So how can you complete this tome of necromantic lore? In this guide, we are going to explain how you can find a way to finish the Book of Thay, and the Necromancy of Thay Location in BG3.
Where to Find Necromancy of Thay in BG3
You will find this book in the cellar in the Blighted Village. Enter the house at the following coordinates: X:37 / Y: 379. Once you get past the Ornate Mirror, and get the book. Then, when you have the Dark Amethyst in your possession, you can use it to open this BG3 Necromancer Book. You have several options on what to do with the book, but if you want to read it yourselves, you are going to need to pass three difficult Wisdom checks.
If you have successfully done that, you’ll be rewarded with the “Speak with the Dead” ability. Needless to say, this ability is very useful – not just for quests, but also information-gathering, and learning more about the world of Baldur’s Gate III. However, you will also learn that still haven’t read the final page. So how can you do this, and where is the final page of the Necromancy of Thay in BG3?
Find a Way to Finish the Necromancy of Thay BG3
First of all, you won’t be able to do this for quite some time yet. In fact, the option won’t be available until you’ve reached the city of Baldur’s Gate later in the game. Once there, go to Sorcerous Sundries. This is part of the “Wizard of Waterdeep” questline and the objective to search Tolna’s office. So go there and interact with a book on the shelf there. This will open up a portal. Go inside. Now, there are many wonderful and powerful items and spells here, so be sure to explore the entirety of this area. But what we’re interested here is only the Necromancy of Thay book.
Once you’re in the puzzle room, go through the doors in the following order: Silverhand, Evocation, and Wish door. Use the lever there and go back to the first room to see that the path to the Elminister Vault has opened up.
