How to Increase Merchant Attitude Baldur's Gate 3
As every RPG player knows, out of the many characters present in these games, few of them are as important as merchants. These traders will buy the items that you don’t need and sell you their often very powerful and useful wares. Because of that, it is most definitely important to stay in their good graces. To keep track of this, many RPGs feature a trader affinity system, which keeps tracks of how much a merchant likes you. Naturally, they will offer you better prices if they do. Baldur’s Gate III also has this feature, and in this guide, we are going to show you how to increase the Merchant Attitude in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Improve Baldur’s Gate 3 Merchant Attitude
When you come across a trader and enter barter mode, you will see that there is an attitude scale beneath their figure on the right. This indicates how much they like or dislike you. The higher their opinion of you, the lower their prices are going to be and they will likewise purchase your items for a higher price. What this means is that it is in your best interests to try and get a merchant’s attitude as high as you can.
You can do this by donating gold or items to the trader in question. Simply select the items that you want to give them free of charge. Then, when you press the barter button without selecting a counter offer, the game will ask you whether or not you are sure that you want to donate these items to the trader. Each Merchant has their own attitude scale, so experiment with how much gold you need to give them. Finally, note that, even if you max out their attitude, no new items are going to appear in their inventories.
