How to Beat Yurgir Fast in Baldur’s Gate 3
There are several ways you can beat Yurgir fast in Baldur’s Gate 3, or BG3. The first method is to sneak up, line up force bombs behind every hostile in the room, then set them all off with an arrow. After that, when the boss starts flinging explosives at you, use Karlach to toss them back. They do massive AoE damage to both Yurgir and the others. In fact, there are several general methods that you can use to set the battlefield up in a way that makes Yurgir blow himself up or knock him off his perch. You can find several really fun ideas in this Reddit thread. And if the rats are giving you trouble, and you have a Druid or a Ranger in your party, use them to cast Spike Growth on yourselves.
However, the most entertaining way to beat Yurgir fast in Baldur’s Gate 3 or BG3 is if you have a really high Charisma and Persuasion score. I’m talking paladin, bard, sorcerer; you get the idea. At the beginning, steer the conversation towards Yurgir’s pact with Raphael. Pretend you dislike Raphael too, and make the demon recite the poem that serves as their contract. Pretend you dislike Raphael, too, as shown in this video. If you pass an Insight check the game rolls for you, the last line of the poem will stick in your mind. Ask why Raphael wanted the Justiciars dead. When it’s your turn to talk next, persuade Yurgir that he still has an audience. If you pass the DC 16 check, he will kill his followers. The next check, DC 21, convinces him to kill his pet displacer. Lastly, if you pass one more DC 21 Persuasion check, Yurgir will kill himself. Feel free to save-scum this whole conversation.
I personally cannot get dialogue to trigger with this guy at all. He just immediately attacks as soon as he sees us. I don’t remember encountering him earlier so… I also looked at other strategies for this guy and they all say you can talk to him? So I must be doing something wrong
I’m sure you’ve moved on but for anyone in the future, you have to follow the displacer beast to trigger the cut scene. If you run into him otherwise he’ll just immediately attack.
